House of Cars is a painted vision of a private interior that has arranged itself around the things its owner values most. A double-height space — cathedral ceiling of dark timber and glass, floor-to-ceiling windows with garden beyond — contains a collection of classic and exotic cars: a deep navy sports car in the foreground, a red open-top car behind it, an emerald green car further back, others partially visible at the edges. Between and around them, tropical plants and large monstera leaves fill the space from floor to ceiling, so that the room reads as much as a garden as a collection.

The palette is carefully controlled for something so rich: deep navy, vivid green, warm amber, dark timber. Sunlight through the glass windows creates long dappled shadows on the polished floor — the kind of light that changes throughout the day. Gold leaf has been hand-applied to points within the composition — monstera leaf edges, architectural highlights, the glow of the chandelier above — creating material brightness that shifts as you move past the piece and that photography cannot fully capture. Because the embellishment is done individually, no two examples are identical.

A sitting room with good ceiling height is the natural home — the piece works best with space around it. Also strong in a hallway where it can be approached and seen closely, allowing the gold leaf on the foliage and architectural details to be appreciated properly.
