Red Wing Iron Ranger Boot 8111 - Amber

The Iron Ranger takes its design from the boots worn by Minnesota's iron ore miners in the late nineteenth century — a cap-toe boot with a second layer of leather at the toe box for protection against falling rock and ore. Red Wing revived the style on the No. 43 last, a narrower and more structured shape than the Moc Toe's No. 23.

Amber Harness leather is an oil-tanned full-grain hide sourced and tanned within Red Wing's operation in Minnesota. It has a smooth surface and a golden-amber tone that burnishes to a richer, darker character at contact points over time. The leather is firm when new — expect a proper break-in of three to four weeks before the No. 43 last accommodates fully to the foot.

The mini-lug Vibram sole provides durable traction without the bulk of a heavy lug sole — clean enough for everyday wear, hardwearing enough for outdoor use. Goodyear welt construction throughout; the 8111 is built to be resoled and worn for decades.
